  2. 1. Lookup can be configured as an active transformation - it can return multiple rows on successful match
    2. Now you can write SQL override on un-cached lookup also. Previously you could do it only on cached lookup
    3. You can control the size of your session log. In a real-time environment you can control the session log file size or time
    4. Database deadlock resilience feature - this will ensure that your session does not immediately fail if it encounters any database deadlock, it will now retry the operation again. You can configure number of retry attempts.

  4. Hola,

Muchas Gracias Mi Amigo! You make learning so effortless. Anyone can follow you and I would not mind following you to the moon coz I know you are like my north star.

I have PowerCenter Server 10.1.0 on AWS AMI Windows PAYG license with port 6005,6008 enable.
    I have desktop windows 8.1

Connectivity to Repository service from Windows 8/1 powercenter client 10.1.0 is throwing error "4006: unable to connect to domian.sermanegemrn service "

Windows 8.1 is not (and will never be) a certified platform for PowerCenter.
Please install the server software on a supported Windows version (see the Product Availability Matrices for your products).

Thank you very much and will look for more postings from you.

    Ciao,
    Morgan

  5. Salaam,

I love all the posts, I really enjoyed.
I would like more information about this, because it is very nice., Thanks for sharing.

If your logic doesnt change throught the mapping execution, then you can use the expression variable.
In mapping parameters and varaibles you can define a variable and at the end of the row there is a check box to enable the property "Is Expression Variable". If enabled, the value within the variable is treated as expression. This Expression logic can be used anywhere by simply using the variable name.
But great job man, do keep posted with
    the new
    updates.

    Many Thanks,

  6. Hi There,

You make learning and reading addictive. All eyes fixed on you. Thank you being such a good and trust worthy guide.

could you please check the link again that you've sent? I only get an error message that a Sharepoint error had occurred.
As of my understanding the PowerExchange products cannot be used with PowerCenter Express (PCX). PCX does provide quite a few connectivity options, so if you can find some ODBC or JDBC driver to access SFDC you might be able to get your job done. Otherwise I fear you will have to switch to one of the full-fledged PowerCenter or Informatica Data Quality products.
But great job man, do keep posted with the new updates.

    Best Regards,
    Irene Hynes

  7. Hi There,

Amaze! I have been looking bing for hours because of this and i also in the end think it is in this article! Maybe I recommend you something helps me all the time?

As of now i can think of one logic dont know how far it works ...lets give a try and let me know.

Create another mapping and try to create a dynamic paramter file with the lookup value you are discussing ( Just a target file with one column as string datatype (255).)

    like $$Expr_Var=A+B+C

And the main mapping you define a mapping variable $$Expr_Var (Make sure you select IS_EXPR_VAR is true. Use the parameter file in the session and use the above variable in the calculation..so it will treat as a expression rather than mere string value. Hope it should workInformatica IDQ training USA.

Awesome! Thanks for putting this all in one place. Very useful!

    Many Thanks,
    Preethi.

How do you install a version 10.1.1 and import projects of previous versions ? When I tried (as a workaround) to import a full repository of a previous version in the new version, I have got an error Informatica IDQ training USA saying that I cannot do this. (I tried through the Admin console)

I read multiple articles and watched many videos about how to use this tool - and was still confused! Your instructions were easy to understand and made the process simple.

    Thanks,
